Firebug Lite for Camino

As Web designers and developers, we often find that Firefox begins to grind to a halt with all the developer extensions we have installed. So, whilst looking for a quicker alternative (don’t get us wrong, we love FF!) we came across this little bookmarklet for Camino (Mac).

Although it’s not a complete version, it still fairly handy to have!

Missing shopping basket in CubeCart 4

We’ve recently been alerted to a CubeCart 4 issue where various visitors do not see the shopping basket on Cubecart sites and are unable to purchase anything due to the ‘add to basket’ button doing nothing.

We have found a solution thanks to this post at fragged.org which fixes the problem by emptying the spiders.txt file in the web root. We have rolled out the fix to our clients regardless of whether the problem has appeared or not on their stores.

Testing websites in IE6, IE7 and IE8 on the same PC

As a web design studio we constantly have the requirement to test all the websites we build in the latest browsers, and as we develop on Apple Macs, it’s essential for us to be able to test on all IE versions.

As most designers are aware, installing multiple versions of Internet Explorer on the same PC can be quite tricky. Tredosoft’s Multi IE helped us to cope with this problem, but with the imminent arrival of IE8 (currently in Beta) and Vista’s awkwardness we now need to find an alternative solution. {…}

WordPress 2.5 has arrived!

Wordpress 2.5 was released today together with a completely new Wordpress site design. This new version of WordPress comes with a huge number of updates and a complete overhaul of the administration area.

It is definitely worth upgrading to, if you haven’t done so already – We will be upgrading our site in the near future too and will be looking forward to developing future CMS websites using WordPress.

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability.
